Seventeen-year-old Bianca Passarge of Hamburg dresses up as a cat and dances on wine bottles in June 1958. Her performance was based on a dream. She practiced for eight hours a day to do this.

I am being born again
In this new life, time will not be wasted
I will laugh more than I sigh
Dance more then walk.
Complement more then criticize
Love instead of hate
Believe instead of dream
In this new life I will live
Take my time with challenges
And complete them with as much vigor as I can accumulate
In this new life I will be me
Cut off all my hair
Wear what I want
In this new life I am me
I am more

Puzzlewood is an ancient woodland site, near Coleford in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England. The site, covering 14 acres, shows evidence of open cast iron ore mining dating from the Roman period, and possibly earlier.
In 1848 some workmen, after moving a block of stone in the woods, found a small cavity in the rocks. In this cavity, hidden away, were three earthenware jars containing over 3,000 Roman coins. No-one knows why the coins were hidden away in the cliff face nor by whom.
J. R. R. Tolkien, a frequent visitor to the Forest of Dean, may have visited Puzzlewood, and many believe Puzzlewood was the inspiration for the fabled forests of Middle-earth, such as the Old Forest, Mirkwood, Fangorn or Lothlórien contained within The Lord of the Rings. J.K Rowling is also said to have visited Puzzlewood, and it may have been this that influenced her idea of The Forbidden Forest in the Harry Potter books.

When Seventeen Magazine’s editor in chief Ann Shoket told Julia Bluhm that Seventeen “celebrates girls for being their authentic selves,” and that “there is no other magazine that highlights such a diversity of size, shape, skin tone and ethnicity,” a few eyebrows went up. Here, teen girls from Sisters Action Media respond to that statement while going through the latest issue of Seventeen.
“They do have a few girls of other races and a few girls of other body types, but when I think about “diversity” I think about an even amount, and they definitely don’t have an even amount at all. There’s definitely more white skinny girls in this magazine than anything else.” [Turns out there are only 14 girls of color in the whole mag—and only one of them had a darker skintone.]

How much does Saudi Arabia hate women? So much so that 15 girls died in a school fire in Mecca in 2002, after “morality police” barred them from fleeing the burning building — and kept firefighters from rescuing them — because the girls were not wearing headscarves and cloaks required in public. And nothing happened. No one was put on trial. Parents were silenced.
